Teddi Mellencamp is leaning on professional support as she continues to cope with the physical and emotional strain of her ongoing cancer battle, revealing that therapy has become an essential part of her recovery process.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 44, shared the update during a recent episode of her Two Ts in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge, explaining that she is only now beginning to fully process everything she has endured since being diagnosed with melanoma in 2022 and later discovering tumors in her brain in early 2025.
Mellencamp admitted that the aftermath of emergency surgery, months of aggressive treatment and major life changes left little room for emotional reflection at the time. She also cited the pain of being separated from her children during recovery and navigating a public divorce from Edwin Arroyave after more than a decade of marriage.
On the podcast, Mellencamp said ongoing immunotherapy has taken a noticeable toll on her body, leaving her feeling slower and more limited than before. The frustration, she explained, comes from wanting to return to the energetic version of herself she once knew.
She also addressed comments made by her father, rocker John Mellencamp, who recently said his daughter was suffering. According to Teddi, the remark was meant to describe her mental health, not her latest scans. While there is currently no detectable cancer, she remains classified as stage four and continues treatment.
Now, with the immediate medical crisis behind her, Mellencamp says she is confronting lingering fear, trauma and anxiety, including worries about recurrence and losing independence. Through therapy, rest and time with family, shAs she moves forward, Mellencamp remains candid with fans about the reality of survivorship, emphasizing that progress does not always feel like relief, but can still mark meaningful strength, growth and hope during an uncertain chapter of her life.
