For years, discussions about love and relationships have been at the heart of Jay Shetty's work. With his new podcast, Messy Love: Difficult Conversations for Deeper Connection, the 38-year-old life coach is applying his ideas in real time by guiding couples through the challenges of modern relationships.

Shetty admits that the experience has also reinforced the importance of tending to his own marriage to Radhi Devlukia-Shetty. "What it has inspired in my own relationship is a continued awareness that the work is never done," he tells PEOPLE exclusively. The couple first met in 2013 and married in April 2016.

Unlike Shetty's popular podcast On Purpose, which explores love through interviews with celebrities and experts, Messy Love immerses him in the actual lives of three couples who are confronting issues with communication, trust, and intimacy. Coaching these couples has reminded Shetty that intimacy is never fixed. Even long-term partners may have unspoken feelings, and uncovering these perspectives can be both surprising and enlightening.

"Whether you are just starting out, coming out of a breakup, or have been with someone for a long time, everyone can relate to expecting your partner to know you and thinking you know them. Yet you can still discover new layers of vulnerability and openness," he explains. These moments highlight that meaningful connection requires curiosity and attention rather than assumption.

Shetty emphasizes that communication is key to strengthening relationships. "One of my favorite tools helps transform conversations from accusatory, critical, or defensive to collaborative and connective, ultimately deepening love," he says. "Difficult

conversations should not be about winning or boosting ego. They are about deepening the connection."

The lessons Shetty has learned through coaching extend directly to his own marriage. He explains that maintaining intimacy and connection requires daily commitment. "Communication and conversation are not optional. Skipping them for days, weeks, or months comes at a cost, much like neglecting eating or sleeping. Relationships require consistent investment, and that investment cannot be ignored," he says.

Messy Love: Difficult Conversations for Deeper Connection premiered on January 22, 2026, exclusively on Audible, offering listeners a unique glimpse into how couples can navigate complexity while strengthening trust, understanding, and intimacy.
