Peacock is moving forward with development on The Astrology House, a new drama series adaptation based on the novel by Carinn Jade, with Christina Ricci attached to star and executive produce. The project is being written by Lindsay Calhoon Bring and is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. The series is currently in development and has already drawn attention due to its creative team and its dark, character driven premise.

The Astrology House centers on the intertwined lives of two women, Rini and Margot, with Ricci set to portray Margot. The story unfolds when Rini invites Margot and her extended circle of family and friends to spend time at her astrology retreat. What begins as a seemingly restorative getaway quickly turns volatile as long buried resentments, secrets, and unresolved conflicts rise to the surface. Tensions escalate over the course of the vacation, ultimately leading to a death that changes everything. The narrative blends emotional drama with mystery, using the retreat setting as a pressure cooker for relationships that are already strained.

Ricci will executive produce through her production company Cat Full of Spiders alongside Michael Peters. Lindsay Calhoon Bring also serves as an executive producer, while Carinn Jade is attached as a consulting producer, helping ensure the adaptation stays true to the spirit of her original novel. The collaboration brings together experienced voices from both television writing and performance, signaling Peacock’s interest in building a prestige drama anchored by strong characters.

Christina Ricci continues to be one of television’s most compelling performers. She currently stars as Misty Quigley on Showtime’s Yellowjackets, a role that earned her an Emmy nomination in 2022. Earlier in her career, she received an Emmy nomination in 2006 for her guest appearance on Grey’s Anatomy. Ricci also made a notable return to her gothic roots with a key role in the first season of Netflix’s Wednesday, a project that resonated strongly with longtime fans of her earlier work.

Her television résumé includes Prime Video’s Z The Beginning of Everything and a lead performance in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, which earned her a SAG Award nomination. Ricci is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and attorney Gretchen Rush.

Lindsay Calhoon Bring brings significant experience in serialized storytelling to the project. She co created and served as co showrunner on HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars Original Sin, which she developed with Roberto Aguirre Sacasa. Her previous credits include writinge on Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Bring is also a graduate of the 2018 Warner Bros Writers Workshop and is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway.

With its intimate setting, psychological tension, and a lead performance by Christina Ricci, The Astrology House positions itself as a character focused drama with mystery at its core. As development continues, the project adds to Peacock’s growing slate of original series driven by recognizable talent and dark, emotionally complex storytelling.
