Eva Mendes is revealing a personal chapter in her life. The Hitch actress recalled hiding her baby bump from the public while pregnant with her second daughter, Amada Lee, 9, whom she shares with Ryan Gosling, and Esmeralda Amada, 10.

"2016—I was hiding my second pregnancy from the public," Eva wrote on Instagram Jan. 15 while participating in the viral trend of sharing photos from a decade ago, "made some pretty cool biz moves, and heartbreakingly, my brother John passed."

She said of Amada, who was born on April 29th of that year, "Thank God my youngest was born and saved the family."

The 51-year-old began her carousel post with a black-and-white photo of herself sitting down with a blanket wrapped around her, captioned, "2016—I was pregnant. This is me hiding my stomach."

Later in the photo gallery, she shared a glamorous shot of herself posing for her "first photoshoot post baby," as well as her "first cover shoot post baby."

While Eva and Ryan prefer to keep their personal lives private, the Skura Style founder recently spoke out after reports surfaced that the longtime couple was relocating their family to London.

"WRONG again @dailymail," Eva wrote on her Instagram Stories in November, alongside a screenshot of the article. "Even though I enjoy my time in London, I can't wait to get back home and celebrate the @dodgers World Series championship!”

While she has confirmed that she will not leave Los Angeles, she has been open about her decision to say goodbye to Hollywood and the film industry.

"I was never in love with acting," Eva told The Times in October. "I don't mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I was not a good actress. I had my moments when I worked with truly wonderful people."

According to the Place Beyond The Pines actress, being Cuban-American meant she was frequently cast as one-dimensional characters.

"There were some pretty shitty roles," she remembered. "At first, they would only say, 'She's too ethnic for this, too ethnic for that.'" It was absolutely crazy. "That was the constant note."
