Nick Jonas was filled with anxiety at the 2026 Golden Globes. After being spotted stepping outside for some fresh air at the Nikki Glaser-hosted award show in Los Angeles on January 11, the "Jealous" singer explained why he needed a break from the annual festivities.

In a video shared with X on January 11, Nick, dressed in a classic black tux with a matching bowtie and Fossil watch, stood alone outside a tent at the Beverly Hilton hotel, surrounded by palm trees and green foliage. And, while taking a breather, he sipped from a glass bottle of water and rubbed his chin, as if deep in thought.

Following the clip's circulation, one user shared their guess on why he had to exit the ceremony, commenting, "Social anxiety got the best of him."

Shortly after, Nick admitted that the theory had some truth—all while making a cheeky reference to his new solo single "Gut Punch," which was released on January 1.

"Yeah," Nick said in a Jan. 12 message on X. "It hit me like a gut punch."

Of course, "Gut Punch" is not about the Jonas Brothers' anxiety over Hollywood events. In fact, Nick previously stated that the song is more about reflecting on his role as a partner to his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and father to their three-year-old daughter, Malti Marie.

"I am hypercritical of myself, usually not about my appearance or getting older, but I was wondering, 'Am I doing everything I can to be the best version of myself?' "Am I a present and thoughtful husband? Am I a good father?’” the 33-year-old said in a statement to People Jan. 1. “As time goes by, the stress and complications of life will weigh on you. It’s important to remember there was once a version of you who was carefree and loved the world.”

How did the Camp Rock star show up for Priyanka as a husband? By attending a glamorous date night at the Golden Globes with the Quantico actress, who wore a custom Christian Dior gown and statement Bvlgari jewelry.

Indeed, Nick told Live from E!: Golden Globes on January 11 that the couple was overjoyed to be able to commemorate "such a great year in film and TV."

And Priyanka echoed that sentiment, telling E! in the joint interview, "It's really wonderful to meet peers and colleagues that you've been watching all year and admiring."
