David Harbour will not be attending the upcoming "Stranger Things: The Final Season Celebration" at New York City's Paley Center on Thursday, December 18, following reports of unusual behavior in recent weeks. The 50-year-old actor, who plays Hopper on the hit Netflix series, was originally slated to appear at the red carpet, screening, and cast discussion but is no longer listed on the event's website. According to a Paley Center spokesperson, Harbour will "not be present due to a scheduling conflict."
Harbour's absence coincides with another cast member sitting out the event. Millie Bobby Brown, who suffered a recent injury, will also not attend. Other key cast members, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, and Maya Hawke, are expected to be present.
The decision follows reports of Harbour's erratic conduct over the past week. TMZ cited footage showing Harbour at a gastropub in Encinitas, California, on December 13, where he allegedly left the venue carrying a man's hat. The patron reportedly confronted him outside and eventually retrieved the item. Harbour was also spotted at a Barnes & Noble in Escondido, California, that same day.
Harbour has previously spoken publicly about his experience with bipolar disorder, revealing that he experienced a manic episode in his mid-20s and was subsequently diagnosed.
These incidents also come amid reports of a harassment complaint filed by Brown prior to filming season five, which allegedly led to months of investigation and her being accompanied on set by a representative, though she has publicly denied the claims. Harbour is also navigating personal challenges following his divorce from singer Lily Allen, who released her album West End Girl, reportedly alluding to their separation.
Representatives for Harbour have not commented on his absence from the event, and it remains unclear whether he will make future appearances tied to the "Stranger Things" finale.
