Becky G has broken her silence on the 2023 cheating allegations surrounding her fiancé, professional soccer player Sebastian Lletget, in her new documentary Rebbeca. Two years after the scandal erupted, the 28-year-old singer reflected on the emotional toll the public scrutiny took on her.

"I was 19 and Sebastian was 23 when we first met. Definitely not looking for it, and I will say it was different for both of us," Becky recalled, sharing how their connection grew over their shared Latino backgrounds and family experiences. The couple became engaged in December 2022 after six years together, only for rumors to emerge months later that Lletget had cheated on her.

The documentary highlights the difficulty of navigating the public eye during such a personal challenge. "This is when I have a really hard time with the concept of, 'This is what you signed up for.' I did not sign up for this. I feel like behind closed doors is my experience," Becky said, describing the challenges of discussing the allegations after experiencing "so much pain." She added, "The hardest part is my silence was confused for weakness... There's no words that would make it better... only actions."

Becky's mother, Alejandra, appeared in the documentary as well, providing her perspective on the situation. She emphasized that she doesn't expect anyone to be perfect and acknowledged that both Becky and Sebastian are navigating their challenges, deserving the opportunity to build their own meaningful love story.

In March 2023, Lletget responded publicly to the cheating allegations, apologizing to Becky and admitting a brief lapse in judgment. He addressed the social media backlash, calling it largely false and directed at the person he described as the love of his life. He expressed remorse for his actions and committed to doing whatever was necessary to rebuild her trust and their relationship.

By the conclusion of the documentary, Becky does not directly confirm her current relationship with Lletget. A man resembling him is seen from behind as she reflects on the people who belong in one's life, emphasizing growth, acceptance, and the idea that experiences change us forever.

Rebbeca will screen in select theaters on December 10 and 13.
