Billie Eilish opens up about the emotional challenges of touring without her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas O'Connell in the newly released trailer for Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D). The teaser, released on Wednesday, December 10, shows Eilish, 23, in tears after reading a heartfelt note from her brother before she embarked on her 106-show trek in September 2024.
"Almost 7 years ago to the day we started your first headline tour of North America," O'Connell wrote. "It's been the joy of my life to travel the world with you three times over and watch you hold every person who comes to your shows in the palm of your hand. Good luck tonight but you don't need it, no one does it like you. Can't wait to see you soon. Love, Pinch."
Prior to this tour, O'Connell had accompanied his sister on guitar throughout all her live shows. He spent 2024 promoting his own solo album, For Cryin' Out Loud!, as well as The Dream, a record released with singer-songwriter Ashe under the group name The Favors.
Eilish co-directed the film alongside James Cameron, whose past credits include Titanic and Avatar. Cameron says in the trailer, "No one's shot a concert film on this scale before. We're
using tech that's never been used before." The teaser emphasizes that "She changed music. He changed movies. Together, they'll reinvent the concert experience."
The trailer also gives a glimpse of Eilish's behind-the-scenes moments. One scene shows her peering out a window at fans queuing to see her, banging on the glass to get their attention, while in another she laughs backstage and enjoys some downtime in what she calls her "puppy room." Eilish explains, "Tour is so brutal, I like to have a puppy room to go chill in," with Cameron joking, "I'll be doing this on my next movie for sure."
Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) is set to hit theaters on March 20, 2026, offering audiences an immersive look at her world tour and personal journey as an artist.
