Miley Cyrus is heading into a new chapter as she and musician Maxx Morando are officially engaged after four years together. The news became public soon after the couple appeared at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles on Dec. 1, where Cyrus sparked speculation by wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. The "bespoke" piece, created by designer Jacquie Aiche, features a cushion-cut stone on a thick 14-karat gold band and quickly drew attention as the pair posed on the red carpet.
Cyrus, 33, and Morando, 27, were first linked in late 2021 after meeting on what she once described as a blind date. "Well, it was blind for me and not really for him," she recalled, adding, "The worst that can happen is I leave." They were later spotted together backstage during Miley's New Year's Eve Party and appeared to confirm their relationship in early 2022.
The couple's bond has continued to grow both personally and professionally. Morando contributed to Cyrus' music, working on "Handstand" and "Violet Chemistry" from Endless Summer Vacation as well as songs on her ninth album, Something Beautiful. Cyrus has said, "I've always worked with the people that I love," adding that Morando "just inspires me so much."
Their age difference has also been a topic Cyrus has spoken about openly. She shared that they "just don't take life too seriously," even joking that their different upbringings sometimes show in daily life, saying he "grew up with a laptop" while she used a shared desktop. More recently, she discussed the dynamic again, noting, "I'm just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great."
The relationship represents a significant change for Cyrus after navigating several difficult phases in her personal life. She has previously acknowledged that being with someone who genuinely values, supports, and respects her is something she came to appreciate over time through her own growth. She has also spoken about how Morando fits into her life with an easy confidence and attraction that she embraces openly.
