Millie Bobby Brown has confirmed that she no longer goes by the name fans have known since the start of her career. The 21-year-old actress, who married Jake Bongiovi in May 2024, revealed in a recent VT interview with costar Noah Schnapp that she has legally updated her name following their wedding and the arrival of their first child.
During the interview, Schnapp attempted to guess her full name, first calling her "Millie Bonnie Brown," before assuming she had added her husband's surname. At one point, he proposed "Millie Bonnie Brown Bongiovi" and later "Millie Bonnie Bobby Bongiovi Brown."
Brown corrected him with a laugh, saying, "Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown," before stating her new name clearly: "It's just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi." She joked that the repetition in the name now leaves her with the nickname "Millie Bon Bon."
The revelation follows previous comments Brown made earlier this year, when she told BuzzFeed UK that "Millie Bonnie Brown" was her actual name and that she once used "Millie Bobby Brown" instead "for s--- and giggles." Her middle name, she clarified then, had always been Bonnie, not Bobby.
Brown and Bongiovi married after three years of dating, first in an intimate ceremony and later in a larger celebration in Italy. In August, the couple announced that they had welcomed a daughter via adoption, sharing in a joint Instagram post that they were entering a "beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy." They added, "And then there were 3."
The pair has chosen not to reveal their daughter's name, though Brown has described early parenthood as "a beautiful, amazing journey." Speaking to British Vogue, she said their child has "taught us so much already," adding, "Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It's just endless joy." Brown also called her husband "the most amazing dad."
Schnapp, who is her daughter's godfather, expressed amusement during their interview as the two teased each other about the name change. Brown, meanwhile, has continued to keep most details of her personal life private, focusing publicly on her work and family while embracing the name she now carries: Millie Bonnie Bongiovi.
