R&B singer and reality television personality William “Ray J” Norwood Jr. was arrested on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, following a highly volatile domestic incident involving his estranged wife, Princess Love. The entire confrontation, which allegedly involved Ray J brandishing a firearm and making verbal threats, was partially captured on a shocking early-morning livestream.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, officers were dispatched around 4:00 a.m. to Ray J’s Porter Ranch home after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute involving threats and a possible firearm. Upon arrival, police secured the residence and arrested the 44-year-old singer on a charge of making a criminal threat (felony). His bail was subsequently set at $50,000, which he later posted for his release.
The chaotic Incident began when Ray J went live on social media, complaining that he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the f***ing world” and claiming that people were trying to take his children. Viewers of the live broadcast allegedly saw him pick up a handgun, load it and threaten violence against anyone who approached his door.
The situation escalated when Princess Love entered the room, holding one of their two young children. A heated exchange ensued as she attempted to leave with the kids, with Ray J accusing her and a cousin of being “drunk” and “alcoholics.” Princess Love, who shares daughter Melody, 7, and son Epik, 5, with Ray J, can be heard on the live stream accusing him: “You just pointed a gun at us.” Ray J vehemently denied the accusation. When a man, later identified as Princess Love’s cousin’s husband, attempted to intervene, Ray J allegedly sharpened his threats, warning that he would “kill” the man.
The sounds of a child crying and police sirens could be heard on the stream before the video cut out. Princess Love, who filed for divorce from Ray J for the fourth time in February 2024, later posted a video stating, "Enough is enough,” and asserting that she would never put her children in danger by leaving them with a man “waving a gun around.” The incident has once again brought the couple’s tumultuous relationship and ongoing public custody battle into sharp focus
