Isla Fisher is opening up about embracing change and rediscovering herself after her split from longtime husband, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. The actress, 49, recently spoke to ELLE Decoration UK about adjusting to single life and finding comfort in her newly finished London home — a space that marks the beginning of a fresh chapter.

"When all the furniture arrived, I did have a bit of a cry," she revealed. "It was my first time as a single woman, being in a home of my own."

Fisher and Baron Cohen quietly separated in 2023 after more than a decade of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in June 2024, ending a 13-year union. Despite the emotional toll, the couple, who share three children, issued a joint statement describing their continued respect and commitment to co-parenting.

"Trying to create a new life from a grassroots level, at least emotionally, has been challenging but deeply rewarding," Fisher shared. "I'm enjoying this new version of my life. I don't need to party in my house anymore. I love to get in the bath, light some candles, bring in my laptop, and put on something on Netflix. That's as exciting as it gets."

Her new London home, decorated with help from interiors brand Soho Home, reflects her personality — warm, glamorous, and a little theatrical. "It's all very cozy but stylish," she said. "I suppose it mirrors who I am — expressive, creative, and a bit of a storyteller."

The actress also made thoughtful design choices for her family. "I wanted the kids' bedrooms on my floor so I can monitor smartphone use and stay close," she said, adding that her home's outdoor space reminds her of her Australian roots. "I grew up barefoot in the garden and on the beach, so this helps me feel grounded."

Fisher has previously characterized the past few years as a time of self-discovery and adjustment. In earlier interviews, she reflected on redefining her sense of self outside of marriage, acknowledging that while adapting to change has been difficult, she continues to navigate this new phase of life with optimism and resilience.
