Rapper Lil Nas X has assured fans he is safe after a turbulent episode in Los Angeles that led to his arrest and subsequent court appearance. The 26-year-old Grammy Award winner, born Montero Lamar Hill, was taken into custody last Thursday after police officers reportedly found him walking unclothed along a busy street. Authorities alleged that he resisted arrest and assaulted officers during the encounter.

Following his arrest, he was hospitalized for treatment related to a possible overdose. On Monday, Lil Nas X appeared in court, where he pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges, including three counts of battery with injury to a police officer and one count of resisting arrest. He was released shortly afterward on a $75,000 bail.

In a message shared on Instagram, he told supporters: "Your girl is gonna be OK, y'all. That was terrifying, that was a terrifying last four days." His comments suggested relief and a desire to reassure his wide fanbase following the unsettling events.

Police have maintained that drug use was involved, though his attorney, Christy O'Connor, disputed the claim, describing the incident as "an aberrant episode in an otherwise productive life." His father, Robert Stafford, echoed that view while speaking outside the courthouse, saying his son felt remorseful and emphasizing the importance of prayers and continued support.

If convicted, Lil Nas X could face up to five years in prison, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office. As part of his release conditions, he is expected to attend an outpatient drug rehabilitation program.

The arrest marks a serious moment in the career of an artist whose meteoric rise to fame began with Old Town Road, a country-rap track that broke records as the longest-running No. 1 song in US chart history. Since then, Lil Nas X has become known for his bold artistry, his unapologetic celebration of LGBTQ+ identity, and his innovative approach to music promotion.

The incident has left fans shocked but determined to support him, remembering his fearless performances, including his unforgettable entrance at Glastonbury in 2023. While the legal process unfolds, many hope the rapper will overcome this difficult period and continue his career with the same creativity and influence that made him one of music's most distinctive voices.
