Michelle Williams has confirmed the arrival of her fourth child, her third with husband Thomas Kail, revealing that the couple welcomed their baby girl earlier this year via surrogate.

During an August 18 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, guest-hosted by Tiffany Haddish, Williams addressed months of speculation surrounding her family. Haddish complimented the actress on her figure, prompting Williams to share the news. "I've got to give a big shoutout to Christine," she said. "Because this last baby did not come through my body, but the miracle of our little girl is thanks to Christine. Maybe you're watching out there; thank you, Christine."

The 44-year-old actress and Kail, who married in 2020, are now parents to three young children together: Hart, born in 2020; another child born in 2022; and their newest addition. Williams is also mom to 19-year-old Matilda, whom she shared with the late Heath Ledger.
Reflecting on life with "three under 5 at home," Williams admitted the adjustment has been intense. "It's good. It's just really busy and I'm trying to figure out the work-life balance," she explained. "I hear that a lot of people are talking about self-care, and I'm just wondering, 'When?' Because I'm the working mom and I already have the guilt, and I don't want to take more time away from them. But I understand I need to fill up the tank."

The Dawson's Creek alum even joked about her unlikely version of "self-care": long waits at the Social Security office. "I recommend a midday appointment, because it's a little bit more crowded, and then you can claim your rightful place at the back of the line where they will let you wait in complete silence for at least one hour," she said, laughing. "Bring, like, a nail file and a to-do list and, like, check, check, check."

Williams' family news comes amid a busy career moment. Earlier this year she returned to television with Dying for Sex, her first project since Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans in 2022. The Hulu series, which has earned multiple Emmy nominations, follows a woman who leaves her marriage to explore new relationships after a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Balancing motherhood and acting continues to be a delicate task for Williams, who once admitted, "My heart obviously belongs to my children; they tug at it the most. But I really want to be able to have both."
