Jana Duggar is preparing for motherhood for the very first time. The 35-year-old former Counting On star revealed this week that she and her husband, pilot Stephen Wissmann, are expecting their first baby together. The couple shared the announcement on Instagram, posting photos that featured Wissmann kissing Jana and the soon-to-be mother proudly cradling her growing bump.
"We are so excited," the caption read. "January 2026 will bring a little bundle of joy into our lives. We are counting down the days and looking forward to this new chapter."
The joyful update arrives almost exactly a year after the pair exchanged vows in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Their August 2024 ceremony, described as classic and elegant, was attended by several members of the Duggar family. Jana's sisters Jessa Seewald, Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Vuolo, and Jordyn Duggar stood by her side, along with sister-in-law Abbie Duggar.
Jana, the oldest Duggar daughter, once admitted she had wondered if marriage would ever happen for her. Just before the wedding, she told reporters that walking down the aisle felt like a dream finally coming true. She explained that she had been slow to open up to romance, but Wissmann's patience and character gradually won her over.
Since then, the couple has marked milestones together, recently celebrating their first anniversary. Wissmann shared his own tribute online, writing that life with Jana "only keeps getting better."
Now, the couple is preparing for perhaps their biggest adventure yet. Jana's baby news also follows celebrations in her extended family, her younger sister Jessa recently welcomed her sixth child with husband Ben Seewald.
As Jana and Stephen step into parenthood, fans of the Duggar family are already sending messages of congratulations, eager to see the next chapter in the life of one of reality TV's most recognizable families.
