With ongoing speculation about Zendaya and Tom Holland's engagement, the couple's longtime friend and stylist, Law Roach, has stepped in to clarify what's true, and what's premature.
Roach, 47, shared an update earlier this month at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, stating that formal wedding planning hasn't begun. "We have time," he told E! News, pointing to Zendaya's full filming schedule. The Emmy-winning actress, currently on set for the next installment of Dune, is balancing multiple major productions. "It's so many movies," Roach noted, "so the process hasn't even started yet."
While fans have been eager to envision Zendaya's wedding-day fashion, Roach remained tight-lipped. "She's going to be a secret bride," he said, leaving questions about the gown unanswered, a rare move for someone whose reputation is built on bold, bespoke styling.
A family source confirmed the couple's engagement to People in January 2025. According to that source, Tom Holland proposed over the holidays in one of Zendaya's family homes. The engagement was shared with close friends around New Year's. "Everyone close to them knew it was coming," the insider said. "Tom had been ready for a while."
Roach has kept his perspective personal and low-key. When asked how he felt about their future together, he simply said, "Happy." Speaking with People in February, he added, "They really love each other. It's beautiful that the world gets to witness it."
Despite the public interest, both Zendaya and Holland appear in no rush to walk down the aisle. Another source told PEOPLE the couple is taking their time, focusing on career goals before setting a date. "They're busy, and they're enjoying this chapter," the source said.
The couple is also reuniting professionally: their next Spider-Man film, titled Brand New Day, is slated for release on May 1, 2026. It marks their fourth on-screen collaboration as Marvel's iconic pair.
