Rapper GloRilla was arrested in Georgia on July 22 after turning herself in to the Forsyth County Jail. She is facing two felony charges related to drug possession: one for marijuana and another for a Schedule I controlled substance. The arrest came after police responded to an attempted burglary at her home.

Authorities were called to her residence in the early hours of July 20 after three intruders reportedly broke into the house and tried to steal items. Someone inside the home fired shots at the suspects, who fled the scene. No injuries were reported. GloRilla was not present during the break-in, as she was away performing at the WNBA All-Star Game. Family members were inside the house during the incident.

While investigating the burglary, deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the home. This led the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force to obtain a search warrant. During the search, officers found a large amount of marijuana and a separate controlled substance in the master bedroom closet. As a result, GloRilla was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

She turned herself in two days later and was released shortly after posting bond, which was set at just over \$22,000. Law enforcement officials acknowledged that she was both a victim of a crime and the subject of a separate criminal investigation. They stressed that efforts to catch the burglars are ongoing, even as the drug charges move forward.

This is not GloRilla's first legal trouble in Georgia. In April 2024, she was arrested in Suwanee for driving under the influence. Despite her recent run-ins with the law, she has remained active in her music career. She recently released new singles and is scheduled to headline a concert in her hometown of Memphis.

Her legal team has responded strongly to the arrest, accusing law enforcement of focusing too heavily on the drug charges rather than the trauma caused by the break-in. They claim the robbery left her family shaken and resulted in the theft of valuable property.

The investigation into the attempted burglary is still underway.
