Brittany Cartwright has shared new details on her rocky relationship with estranged husband Jax Taylor, describing it as "horrible" and full of distrust as the two continue navigating a difficult divorce and co-parenting situation.

During her July 22 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Cartwright, 36, discussed Taylor's surprise announcement that he is stepping away from Bravo's The Valley ahead of season 3. "I found out the night before, and I was like, that was a great decision... by everyone," she said.

Taylor, 46, announced his exit on July 16, stating: "After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz."

Cartwright revealed that she and the rest of the cast were not informed ahead of time.  The reality star also shared why their divorce remains incomplete nearly a year after she filed in August 2024. "We both didn't send in our stuff at the right time," she admitted, adding, "October 15 is the new date, and it's going to happen."
Despite being separated, Cartwright claimed that Taylor "is not in therapy," and when asked about his sobriety, she said, "He's sober from some things, but not all things. I'll just say that."

Cartwright further expressed disappointment in Taylor's efforts as a co-parent, revealing their 4-year-old son Cruz has stayed at Jax's house "maybe 10 times in the past year and a half, two years." She added, "[Cruz is] with me 24/7, which I love. I wouldn't change it for anything."

Taylor has also reportedly stopped contributing to their mortgage or expenses for their child. When The Valley season 2 reunion begins July 29 on Bravo.
