In a rare and candid appearance on his sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast Khloé in Wonderland, Rob Kardashian offered a heartfelt explanation for his continued absence from both reality TV and social media. The 38-year-old former star, known for Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Rob & Chyna, said it’s a matter of self-preservation rather than family drama.
Rob explained that his decision to step away from the spotlight has everything to do with himself. He emphasized that there are no problems between him and his family, and his withdrawal from the public eye isn’t rooted in any personal conflict. Instead, he attributed his absence to ongoing struggles with body image and self-confidence, noting that he doesn’t feel comfortable in his own skin and has no desire to be on camera feeling vulnerable.
He shared that he values his peace of mind and chooses happiness over being in front of the cameras. Rob added that he prefers filming only when it feels positive, natural, and when he’s feeling good about himself. While he’s not ruling out a future return to the family’s public projects, he made it clear that it would only happen on his own terms and when he feels ready.
Rob also opened up about his dating life, revealing that he has remained single for the past eight years, ever since the birth of his daughter, Dream. He explained that his priorities shifted entirely once he became a father and he’s chosen to focus on parenting rather than pursuing romantic relationships. Although he admitted to talking to people casually, he emphasized that he has not gotten serious with anyone during that time.
Khloé, who shares a strong and supportive bond with Rob, praised her brother during the podcast episode. She expressed admiration for the way he’s been raising his daughter and described him as an incredible father. She also voiced hope that Rob might one day make more frequent appearances in the family's projects, but made it clear that his comfort and well-being come first.
