Scheana Shay talks candidly about a difficult period in her marriage. In 2020, the Vanderpump Rules alum disclosed that she was pregnant with their 4-year-old daughter, Summer Moon, when her husband, Brock Davies, had an affair.
The "Good as Gold" singer claims that during the media circus surrounding Scandoval—also known as her costar Tom Sandoval's 2023 cheating scandal with Rachel "Raquel" Leviss—Brock admitted to cheating.
In an extract from her new memoir, My Good Side, which was released on July 10 by Glamour magazine, Scheana said, "I had spent so much time fighting off my anxiety and convincing myself that just because Tom cheated on Ariana [Madix] didn’t mean Brock would ever cheat on me." "Now I was finding out just how wrong I was."
In response to allegations that he had sex with a lady from San Diego he knew before their 2019 meeting, Scheana clarified that the Australian athlete, whom she married in 2021, came clean.
"As I sat there, feeling completely sick to my stomach, he admitted that—at the time—he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else," the 40-year-old recalled. "I use the word 'chose' because it was a deliberate choice. Nobody pulled him into bed or twisted his arm.
Brock, who is also the father of two children from a prior relationship and lives in Australia with their mother, initially shocked Scheana by betraying her while she was expecting their first child together.
"I didn’t want to believe what he was telling me, and, oddly, I didn’t know how to react, either," she continued. "I was so angry, so sad, and so hurt; those were givens."
"Started pacing back and forth, fuming, and feeling like I might throw up," Scheana wrote. "After that, I lost my temper and slapped him, throwing a Rubik's Cube at him, which he avoided. Even now, whenever I see a Rubik's cube, it brings me back to this extremely depressing time in my life.
The Bravolebrity described how the affair began: "Brock went to work at his gym, F45 Training East Hillcrest in San Diego, and he ran into her outdoors one day when I was at home, pregnant with his child. He said that they had a brief romance after getting back in touch.
Later on, though, Brock changed his mind and sent Scheana a letter expressing regret for his wrongdoings since he didn't want to endanger his new family.
"He said he realized he was throwing his second chance at a family away by stepping out and swore to himself that he would never betray me again," she said. "He also pointed out that it was purely physical, never emotional, and he always used protection."
"Once I’d read it, that was more than enough," explained Scheana. "I instructed him to throw it into the fire right away. I didn't want to see those words ever again.
