Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have officially finalized their divorce, nearly two years after announcing their separation in September 2023. Court records from New York's Suffolk County Supreme Court confirm that the judgment of divorce was filed on June 12 and marked "disposed" on June 23. The dissolution brings an end to their 27-year marriage, which began in 1996.

Furness, 69, filed for divorce on May 27, listing the split as uncontested. This move came amid increasing public speculation surrounding the pair's $250 million fortune and Jackman's rumored relationship with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster. Despite the financial magnitude, a source told Daily Mail, "There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, she got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure."

In her filing, Furness issued a deeply personal statement addressing the emotional toll of the breakup: "My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep." She added, "Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose."

Jackman, 56, reportedly felt "blindsided" by Furness' use of the word "betrayal." According to an insider cited by Page Six, "He was disappointed and didn't expect that kind of language to go public." Public attention intensified when Furness allegedly liked an Instagram post suggesting she was unaware of Jackman's blossoming romance with Foster.

Furness' statement also emphasized resilience: "This belief [in a higher power] has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage... returning to yourself and living within your own integrity... is liberation and freedom." Her comments resonated with many online, especially women who have experienced similar struggles.

The couple's separation, though quiet, came with its share of tabloid buzz. Jackman and Foster went public in January 2025. Foster had filed for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, in October 2024. While neither Jackman nor Foster has spoken publicly about their relationship, friends like Amanda de Cadenet commented publicly, saying, "My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up."

Despite the high-profile split, both parties stressed the importance of family. Their joint statement read: "Our family has been and always will be our highest priority... We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy."
