"Mrs. Rockwell," Leslie Bibb, will not be staying at the White Lotus resort anytime soon. The White Lotus alumna opened up about why she and her 18-year partner, Sam Rockwell, do not intend to tie the knot.
When Leslie appeared on Today with Jenna & Friends on June 16, she told Jenna Bush Hager, "Listen, I love Sam Rockwell." I would always keep him with me and tuck him into my pocket. I adore him. I'm not interested in getting married.
The 51-year-old admitted that she had such feelings about marriage long before she met 56-year-old Sam in 2007 at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
"It annoyed the crap out of me because he's like, 'Really, you don’t want to get married?'" Leslie recalled that early in their relationship, they had discussed the subject. "I told them to stop saying it. I've stated that I have no desire to wed you. "Stop asking me as if I'm going to cheat on you."
However, in spite of his persistent nagging, the Palm Royale actress observed that Sam "didn’t want it either."
She explained, "I think if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe it's something about the way we grew up."
Furthermore, "I feel like we are married!" Leslie joked.
Leslie is also not interested in reaching other relationship milestones, such as marriage. Additionally, the actress acknowledged that she has no plans to have children, adding, "I just don't have that chip in me."
The couple has, of course, forged a close bond in other ways, such as costarring on season three of The White Lotus.
"We've been together for 18 years, it's a long time but I do think it gets better," Leslie stated. For example, I find the closeness of a relationship to be sexy. In the beginning, you can all have the sex that's hot, but you need to reinvent yourself.
In a 2022 interview with The Standard, Sam echoed that sentiment, saying, "We're basically married."
"She’s in my will," the Oscar winner went on to say. "We seem to be married to me. We lead a married-couple lifestyle.
