"Happy Birthday Mon Amour," she wrote in the caption, adding heart emojis and the French phrase, "Je t'aime" (I love you).
Earlier this year, when Sam celebrated her birthday in March, Aaron posted a heartfelt message of his own. Alongside snapshots from their romantic travels, he wrote, "Happy Birthday gorgeous! Love spending every moment with you," in a tribute to the Fifty Shades of Grey director.
Aaron and Sam have built a blended family together. They share two daughters — Wylda, 14, and Romy, 13 — while Sam is also mom to Angelica and Jessie from her previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.
The couple tied the knot in 2012, three years after working together on Sam's directorial debut Nowhere Boy, in which Aaron played the role of a young John Lennon. In June 2022, they renewed their vows in a special ceremony celebrating their 10-year anniversary.
Reflecting on that day, Aaron shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, calling Sam "my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world." He described the vow renewal as "a celebration of love and joy" surrounded by close family and friends, saying, "The sun did not stop shining on us both... we are blessed beyond belief."
In a 2023 interview with Esquire, Aaron opened up about their relationship, emphasizing that their bond goes far beyond their professional collaborations. "Yes, we worked together — I met Sam as actor and director. We're great at collaborating. But that's not why I fell in love with her," he said.
