In early June 2025, actor and musician Jared Leto, 53, came under intense scrutiny after nine women, some alleging he pursued relationships while underage—publicly accused him of predatory sexual behavior spanning nearly two decades. The claims surfaced in a detailed exposé by Air Mail, reigniting long-standing rumors about his conduct.
One accuser, Laura La Rue, a model, alleges that when she was just 16 in 2008, Leto flirted with her and requested her phone number at a benefit event. She later visited his Los Angeles home, where he reportedly “flirting…teasing” her despite her being underage. Another woman, DJ Allie Teilz, said Leto assaulted her when she was 17, describing the experience as “predatory, terrifying and unacceptable”. Additional allegations describe unsettling behavior such as explicit messaging, late-night calls, and invitations to private gatherings—many taking place while the women were minors.
Many of the allegations date back to 2006. One woman recounted meeting Leto at a café at age 16, when he asked for her number and called her days later in a “weird, gross” voice that became sexual over time. Other women described being invited to parties that featured “a disproportionate number of young women” and alleged Leto encouraged nudity among guests. In some cases, he allegedly exposed himself or masturbated in front of them.
Leto’s representation vehemently denies the allegations, labeling them as “infundadas y difamatorias” and saying there is “nothing improper” in their communications. Despite the severity of the claims, no criminal charges have been filed so far, as the allegations come from decades-old encounters and haven’t triggered legal proceedings.
The resurgence of these accusations has brought renewed attention to earlier rumors. Anonymous message boards from the mid-2000s suggested Leto pursued teenage models and sent explicit messages. In 2018, actor Dylan Sprouse tweeted that Leto “slides into the DMs of every female model aged 18–25,” hinting at behavior bordering on grooming. James Gunn cryptically replied, “He starts at 18 on the Internet?”—a response later deleted.
As of now, Jared Leto has not commented publicly. His representatives maintain there is no substance to the claims, but with nine women sharing consistent and disturbing stories, the allegations pose a serious reputational threat. Lawyers, fans and industry at large are watching closely to see if authorities initiate investigations or new accusers come forward.
