Soap opera veteran Steve Burton has turned the page on a difficult chapter, beginning anew with a heartfelt marriage to Michelle Lundstrom. The couple wed in a private Orthodox church ceremony on May 18, 2025, surrounded only by immediate family. The intimate affair was followed by a seaside reception at the upscale Montage Laguna Beach resort.

The marriage comes four months after Burton proposed to Lundstrom during a surprise visit to a chapel on a Nashville farm. "The plan unfolded perfectly and she said yes," Burton recalled, noting the location was tied to their first in-person meeting. Their engagement, announced on January 3, came just over a year after Burton finalized his divorce from Sheree Gustin, his wife of 23 years.

Burton's split from Gustin became public in May 2022, when he disclosed that she was expecting a child who was not his. The divorce was finalized in December 2023, with the couple agreeing to joint custody of their three children: Makena, 21, Jack, 19, and Brooklyn, 10. Gustin later welcomed a fifth child in early 2024.

Lundstrom, a chef and digital content creator, brought two daughters, Lilah, 14, and Hannah, 10, into the union. All five children participated in the wedding ceremony, emphasizing the blending of families. "It was more meaningful than words can express," Burton told People. "This day isn't just about a ceremony, it's the beginning of forever with the love of my life."

Lundstrom echoed his sentiments. "He's like pure sunshine, always uplifting, endlessly caring," she said. "His love makes me a better person every single day."

The bride wore a custom strapless gown by Lee Petra Grebenau, while Burton opted for a classic black suit. The ceremony's Orthodox setting and the reception's oceanfront backdrop offered a balance of spiritual commitment and romantic celebration.

Their relationship, rooted in a long-standing friendship, blossomed after Burton's difficult separation. "We built a deep, meaningful friendship before our relationship turned romantic," Lundstrom shared. "To have the most incredible man I've ever known by my side forever brings me peace and happiness."

Burton, now 54, is best known for his role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital and previously starred in Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless. His new marriage marks a personal turning point, one defined not by scandal or heartbreak, but by healing, faith, and enduring connection.
