In a candid interview on his "Old-ish" podcast, Brian Austin Green revealed intimate details about his relationship with ex-wife Megan Fox. The 51-year-old actor discussed their 15-year journey, including two near-divorces before their final 2020 split.
Green recalled the first time Fox wanted a divorce in 2015. "I was sick [with ulcerative colitis]. She went to New York to do the sequel to 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.' I couldn't even go with her because I couldn't walk," he shared. "It was out of nowhere. It was the most vulnerable thing I had ever experienced in my life at that time."
The actor suggested Fox may have connected with someone during filming. "I think there was somebody she had met on set then that kind of sparked her interest," Green stated, though the relationship "quickly sort of fizzled out."
After reconciling and welcoming their third child, Journey, Green believed they were back on solid ground. "We've been through a lot together. We can do this. There's no mountain that's too high to climb," he remembered thinking.
When Fox approached him about divorce again in 2020, Green was devastated. Shortly after, she began dating Machine Gun Kelly, publicly referring to him as her "twin flame" and "soulmate."
"I had absolute moments of jealousy and all the normal things you go through," Green admitted. "It went from, like, 'Hey, we should get a divorce' to all of a sudden it was like, 'Hey, you know, my twin flame and this is my soulmate. And I manifested him.'"
Green revealed that Fox initially downplayed her relationship with MGK. "I remember Megan saying to me, 'We're just friends. Please, can you, on your podcast, say [that]?' I completely caved to that 'cause I loved her," he explained.
When questioned about why he never defended himself against accusations of "grooming" Fox (they met when she was 18 and he was 30), Green explained his philosophy: "I'm just going to sit back and shut the f–k up and people are gonna find out what they're gonna find out."
Despite the painful separation, Green has "no regrets" about his life path. He's now engaged to podcast co-host Sharna Burgess, while Fox recently welcomed a daughter with MGK in March 2025.
