Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced the release of her new book, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, which she describes as "a celebration of my journey as a performer, filled with personal stories, cherished memories, and never-before-seen photos from more than seven decades on stage."

Parton made the announcement on April 17 via Instagram, revealing the purple book cover that features her in a glittering white jumpsuit holding a matching guitar. The book will be published on November 11 by Ten Speed Press and is co-written with music journalist Tom Roland. It serves as the third and final installment in Parton's autobiographical trilogy, following Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics (2020) and Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones (2023).

Star of the Show offers fans a deeply personal look into Parton's remarkable stage career, from her early days performing alongside Porter Wagoner to her breakout as a solo artist with the 1977 hit "Here You Come Again." The book includes reflections on her acting debut in the 1980 film 9 to 5, her headline tours, and her show-stopping performance at the 2023 NFL halftime show. It also features memories of sharing the stage with artists like Kenny Rogers and Linda Ronstadt.

According to the official book description, the memoir is "brimming with Parton's trademark wit and heartfelt sincerity," and is "a must-have collector's item for — and love letter to — any fan of the one and only Dolly Parton."

The deluxe hardcover edition includes over 350 full-color photographs, an eight-page gatefold performance list, and exclusive photo prints. An audiobook version, narrated by Parton herself, will be released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio.

In addition to her memoirs, Parton has authored several other books, including the children's holiday story Dolly Parton's Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas and the thriller Run, Rose, Run, co-written with James Patterson. She also co-authored the cookbook Good Lookin' Cookin': A Year of Meals with her sister, Rachel Parton George. "If you're like us, you believe that good food and good times are the next best thing to pure love," she shared on Instagram in March 2024.

Star of the Show: My Life on Stage is available for preorder wherever books are sold.
