Philadelphia 76ers star forward Paul George underwent arthroscopic left knee surgery on Monday after suffering an injury in a recent workout, the NBA team announced. The 35-year-old American had a successful operation in New York and will begin a rehabilitation program with progress regularly monitored and a re-evaluation prior to the start of training camp in late September.

Two-time NBA Coach of the Year Mike Brown says he is embracing the expectations that come with taking the helm of the New York Knicks, a storied NBA franchise that has gone without a title for 52 years. "Nobody has any bigger expectations, first of all, than I do," Brown told reporters at the Knicks' practice facility on Tuesday, a day after the team confirmed he had been hired to replaced sacked Tom Thibodeau. "My expectations are high. This is the Knicks and Madison Square Garden. It's iconic. I love and embrace the expectations that come along with it."

Three-time NBA All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal has agreed to leave the Phoenix Suns and plans to join Kawhi Leonard and James Harden's Los Angeles Clippers, US media reported Wednesday. Beal spent the last two seasons as part of a very ambitious Suns project alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

Superstar Kevin Durant is headed from the Phoenix Suns to Houston as part of an NBA-record seven-team deal, the Rockets confirmed on Sunday. The Rockets will also welcome back Clint Capela in a sign-and-trade deal with Atlanta, Houston said in a statement posted on the team website.

The Phoenix Suns signed star point guard Devin Booker (28) to a two-year, $145 million extension on Thursday that'll keep him on the team through the 2029-2030 season. Booker's extension salary is the highest in NBA history. It now marks his third extension with the team as he looks to possibly spend his entire career as a member of the Suns.

The Dallas Mavericks have shown serious intent on improving from their 2024/25 season. The Mavs have hired former LA Lakers boss Frank Vogel to become the team's assistant coach. Vogel is back in the NBA after taking last season off.

Following the defeat, coach Stephanie White pointed to a "lack of competitive fire" as a major factor in the team's underwhelming performance.
