Former U.S. President Joe Biden recently underwent surgery to remove cancerous lesions from his forehead, his spokesperson confirmed. The 82-year-old had a visible scar on his head in late August, after attending church in Delaware with a large bandage above his right eye.

In a major antitrust case, a US judge on Tuesday rejected the government’s demand that Google divest its Chrome web browser but imposed sweeping requirements designed to reinstate competition in online search. The ruling builds on Judge Amit Mehta’s August 2024 finding that Google unlawfully maintained monopolies through exclusive distribution agreements generating billions in annual revenue.

The US is beginning to implement its trade agreement with Japan, with President Donald Trump signing an order on Thursday to lower tariffs on Japanese autos. The text of the executive order, released by the White House, sets a 15% tariff on Japanese vehicles, a reduction from the current 27.5%. Many other goods will also have their tariffs capped at 15%.
