A man charged with assisting the Hong Kong intelligence service has been found dead, police say. Matthew Trickett, 37, a Home Office immigration officer, appeared in court charged under the National Security Act last week.

In a shocking turn of events, a place of worship became the scene of violence and destruction in Rouen, France. On a quiet afternoon, an armed assailant targeted a synagogue, setting it ablaze and endangering the lives of those inside.

The Incident

The incident unfolded swiftly. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a hooded figure approach the synagogue, carrying a container filled with a flammable substance. Without warning, the attacker hurled the incendiary device through a window, igniting a fire that rapidly engulfed the sacred building. Panic ensued as congregants scrambled to escape the inferno.

Police Response

Thankfully, the local police were on high alert. Within minutes of receiving the emergency call, officers arrived at the scene. Their priority was clear: protect innocent lives and neutralize the threat. Braving the intense heat and smoke, they entered the burning synagogue.
