The security service in Ukraine, (SBU), says it has foiled a Russian plot to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelensky and other high-ranking Ukrainian officials. Two Ukrainian government protection unit colonels have been arrested.

In a controversial incident that has shocked the art world, two women were arrested on Monday for defacing a 19th-century painting by Gustave Courbet with the words "MeToo". The painting, known as "The Origin of the World", depicts a woman's vagina and was on display at the Centre Pompidou in Metz as part of a larger exhibition focused on the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan. The artwork had been on loan from the Musee d'Orsay in Paris.

Experts say that Russia is causing disruption to satellite navigation systems affecting thousands of civilian flights. The Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the eastern Mediterranean - the regions where Russia's military has been most active - have seen an increase in disruption to the Global Positioning System (GPS). This has left aircraft unable to receive GPS signals.

Pedro Sánchez has said he will stay on as Spain's prime minister, following five days of speculation over his future.

Mr Sánchez cancelled official engagements last week after a court opened an initial inquiry into his wife over corruption claims. He denounced them as a harassment campaign by right-wing media.
