Signature Entertainment has officially acquired the UK and Irish distribution rights to the US thriller What We Hide, marking another significant step in the film’s growing international presence. The deal was struck with Vaneast Pictures, the production and sales company behind the project, and signals strong confidence in the film’s appeal beyond the United States.

What We Hide stars Mckenna Grace, Dacre Montgomery, Jesse Williams, and Jojo Regina. The film places Grace at the center of a tense and emotional coming of age story that blends family drama with high stakes suspense. Grace plays fifteen year old Spider, who is left to survive alongside her younger sister after their mother suffers a fatal overdose. With no safe adult to turn to, the sisters make a desperate decision to hide their mother’s body in an attempt to avoid being separated by social services.

The situation becomes even more dangerous when their mother’s volatile boyfriend returns. Played by Dacre Montgomery, his presence escalates the threat facing the girls and forces them to confront circumstances far beyond their years. As the pressure mounts, the sisters must take control of their fate, leading the story into darker and more intense territory. The film explores grief, fear, loyalty, and survival through the eyes of young characters placed in an impossible situation.

The film is written and directed by Dan Kay in his feature film debut. Kay also serves as a producer alongside Tony Stopperan, Jeff Hoffman, and Joseph Restaino. The production comes from Outfit Hungry Bull Productions and Above the Clouds, companies previously associated with films such as Pig and Lansky. Their involvement adds weight to the project and reflects a continued focus on character driven independent storytelling.

The distribution agreement was negotiated between Max Hart, Acquisitions and Development Executive at Signature Entertainment, and Danielle Gasher, Founder of

Vaneast Pictures. Hart praised the film for balancing emotional depth with tension, describing it as both thrilling and powerful. He highlighted Mckenna Grace’s performance as a major strength, noting that her work in the lead role left a strong impression and helped drive the decision to bring the film to audiences in the UK and Ireland.

Gasher echoed this enthusiasm, describing What We Hide as a deeply emotional film anchored by outstanding central performances. She expressed excitement about partnering with Signature Entertainment to expand the film’s reach and connect with viewers in new territories.

With its strong cast, intense storyline, and focus on young characters navigating trauma and danger, What We Hide stands as a compelling example of modern independent filmmaking. The UK and Ireland deal positions the film for wider recognition and ensures that its powerful story will reach audiences well beyond its domestic success.
