Amazon MGM Studios’ highly anticipated action sequel Road House 2 is stacking its cast with fresh global talent. The film has officially added Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor, Iko Uwais, and Hidetoshi Nishijima to its ensemble, joining returning star Jake Gyllenhaal.

Character details for the new cast members are being kept tightly under wraps, but the additions signal the studio’s ambitions to build on the success of 2024’s Road House — Amazon’s modern reboot of the 1980s classic that starred Patrick Swayze. The first film drew an impressive 80 million viewers worldwide during its first eight weeks on Prime Video, making it one of the platform’s biggest action releases to date.

The upcoming sequel, directed by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody, Hardcore Henry), is expected to deliver even bigger set pieces and international scope, with production taking place across the United Kingdom, Malta, and Savannah, Georgia. Will Beall penned the script, with producers Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment teaming up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin under their Nine Stories Productions banner. Gyllenhaal and McLaughlin are currently working with Amazon MGM under a three-year first-look film deal.

The sequel will see Gyllenhaal reprise his role as Dalton, a former UFC fighter turned bouncer whose past continues to collide with his present. The casting of Bachelor, Uwais, and Nishijima follows the recent announcement that six real-life fighters — Rico Verhoeven, Michael Chandler, Michael “Venom” Page, Dustin Poirier, Stephen Thompson, and Tyron Woodley — have also joined the film. Jay Hieron, who portrayed Jax “Jetway” Harris in the 2024 reboot, is confirmed to return as well.

Andrew Bachelor, best known by his online moniker King Bach, has transitioned from viral digital stardom into a thriving Hollywood career. He recently wrapped filming Violent Night 2 for Universal and 87North and is set to appear in the upcoming Paramount+ comedy Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story.

Indonesian action star Iko Uwais, who rose to international acclaim with The Raid franchise, brings his acclaimed martial arts choreography and screen presence to Road House 2. Uwais’ extensive credits include Mile 22, Stuber, Snake Eyes, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and The Expendables 4. He also executive produced and starred in Netflix’s Wu Assassins and is preparing for the release of his directorial debut, Timur, on December 18.

Japanese actor Hidetoshi Nishijima, celebrated for his moving performance in the Oscar-winning Drive My Car, continues to bridge Japanese and international cinema. He recently made his English-language debut in Apple TV’s A24 series Sunny, and has completed work on Henry Dunham’s Enemies and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell for Neon.

With its growing ensemble of acclaimed international talent and real-life fighters, Road House 2 promises to raise the bar for action filmmaking on streaming platforms. The project reinforces Amazon MGM Studios’ push into blockbuster-scale originals, following the success of its first Road House reboot — and fans can expect the next round of high-octane action, global grit, and star power when production wraps in the coming months.
