Prime Video has unveiled first-look images for The Mighty Nein, the upcoming animated series from Critical Role and Titmouse. Based on the second campaign of the global phenomenon Critical Role, the show follows a ragtag group of fugitives and outcasts who must put aside their differences when an arcane relic known as The Beacon falls into the wrong hands. Their quest to protect it quickly escalates into a battle to save not just the realm, but reality itself.
The series is set to launch on November 19, streaming in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The Mighty Nein joins Critical Role’s first animated adaptation, The Legend of Vox Machina, as part of Prime Video’s growing lineup of fantasy-driven originals.
Alongside Critical Role’s core cast reprising their fan-favorite roles—Taliesin Jaffe (Molly), Liam O’Brien (Caleb), Marisha Ray (Beau), Laura Bailey (Jester), Travis Willingham (Fjord), and Sam Riegel (Nott the Brave)—the series also introduces a roster of new characters voiced by an impressive slate of talent.
Ming-Na Wen voices Dairon, a blunt and disciplined Expositor monk of the Cobalt Soul who becomes Beau’s mentor. Anika Noni Rose plays Marion Lavorre, the Ruby of the Sea, a celebrated courtesan and protective mother to Jester. Alan Cumming portrays Gustav Fletching, the eccentric carnival ringmaster who gives Mollymauk and other misfits a place to belong.
Tim McGraw lends his voice to Vandran, a stalwart sea captain and father figure to Fjord. Mark Strong voices Trent Ikithon, an influential archmage and Caleb’s manipulative former teacher who secretly leads the Volstrucker, an elite corps of wizard assassins. Finally, Auli’i Cravalho takes on Toya the Vivid Voice, a 13-year-old performer whose haunting songs allow her to tame Kylre, a deadly Devil Toad.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse, the project extends the successful collaboration that brought The Legend of Vox Machina to life.
With its high-profile cast, global fan base, and rich source material, The Mighty Nein is positioned as one of Prime Video’s most anticipated premieres of the fall.
