According to an exclusive report, the film has generated over 75 million global viewers, making it the fourth most‑watched Amazon MGM Studios feature ever on the service.
Despite landing in the fourth spot overall, the title continues Amazon’s winning streak in original streaming content—placing behind Red One, the Dwayne Johnson–Chris Evans Christmas action film, which drew 50 million viewers in its first four days and remains Prime Video’s most‑watched Amazon‑MGM feature. The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, amassed 80 million worldwide viewers over 28 days and grossed $103.2 million at the global box office. The Tomorrow War rounds out the top three on the Amazon MGM Studios chart.
During its debut week, Heads of State hit No. 1 on Nielsen’s movie chart, racking up 1.098 billion minutes streamed, and stayed at the top spot on Prime Video for four consecutive weeks.
The movie stars Idris Elba as the UK Prime Minister and John Cena as the US President—two leaders from rival nations who must team up to thwart a global conspiracy. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Noel Bisset, a senior MI6 agent thrown into the crossfire, supported by Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle, and Paddy Considine among others.
Written by Harrison Query (who also developed the story), with Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, and produced by Peter Safran and John Rickard—Heads of State delivers a globe-spanning mix of political satire, intense action, and comedic tension.
