US EMBEDS TRACKERS IN AI CHIP SHIPMENTS TO MONITOR POSSIBLE DIVERSIONS TO CHINA

WhatsApp has taken down over 6.8 million accounts in the first half of this year as part of its efforts to combat widespread scam activity targeting users around the world, parent company Meta has said. Meta stated that many of the removed accounts were connected to organized crime networks operating scam centers in South East Asia, where forced labor is often used.

Meta reported on Wednesday that capital expenditures for 2025 are expected to total between $66 and $72 billion. A significant portion of this money, approximately $30 billion, will be directed into growing the company’s AI infrastructure, including building new data centers and purchasing cutting-edge servers.
