In a significant de-escalation of their trade war, the US and China have agreed to a deal that will substantially cut import tariffs imposed on each other. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said both countries would lower their reciprocal tariffs by 115% for 90 days. The announcement followed talks held in Switzerland, marking the first discussions between the two countries since President Donald Trump levied steep tariffs on Chinese imports last month.
